How to transfer city maps to the internal or external memory of the device
You can set where your maps will be saved to (SD card or internal memory) in the 2GIS app menu: Settings → Map storage.
If the app has permission to write and edit information on the SD card, you will see the following options in the Map storage section:
- Internal memory — a section in the device’s internal memory not available for editing by third-party apps. If you choose this option, 2GIS will be able to store maps only in its own directory.
- Shared memory, \sdcard — a section in the device’s internal memory that is used to store data in devices with no SD card.
- External memory — the SD card. It can have any name, for example sdcard1.
If your device does not provide apps with permissions to write, edit or delete data stored on the SD card (the permissions are set by the manufacturer), you won’t see this setting or you will only see the Internal memory and Shared memory options.
